This is most likely due to the IR port having previously existed on the old PTZ camera.  To resolve this, you will need to use an IR repeater in place of the old.  Optionally, your codec may offer an app for the remote control via Android, iOS, Crestron, etc.  Depending on the installation environment, it may be beneficial to eliminate the remote control and move to an app on the same platform through which the end user will be controlling the Equal-i Image Processor (i.e. Crestron, AMX, Windows, etc).
