Immersive Everywhere mode utilizes both the video and content channel of your codec. Many codecs come, by default, unbalanced between the video and data channels. This makes sense because your typical spreadsheet or power point presentation does not require high frame rates in order to view. Because Equal-i uses that content channel, however, you will want to balance the output of your codec so that it broadcasts video and content at similar, high rates.
To adjust these settings on a Cisco SX Series Codec:
1. Log into the Cisco Web Interface
2. Go to System Settings > Conference > Video Bandwidth Mode
3. Adjust the MainChannelWeight and PresentationChannelWeight so that they are balanced (1:1, 5:5, etc).
4. Save settings
Note: The available transmit video bandwidth is distributed on the main channel and presentation channel according to "MainChannel Weight" and "PresentationChannel Weight". If the main channel weight is 2 and the presentation channel weight is 1, then the main channel will use twice as much bandwidth as the presentation channel.
To adjust these settings on a Polycom Group Series Codec:
1. Log into the Polycom Web Interface
2. Set the following: Admin Settings > Network > IP Network > Network Quality > Quality Preference > Content Stream
3. Set the following: Admin Settings >Audio/Video > Video Inputs > Optimized For > Sharpness
Note: The high frame rates with high resolution apply only to point-to-point calls above 832 kbps. In addition, you must set Optimized for value of your Camera input to Sharpness. Low frame rates apply if your call does not meet these requirements. For multipoint calls, the maximum resolution and frame rate for content is 720p @ 30 fps.
Note: Polycom Group 310 and 500 Series codecs require an optional 1080p Encode/Decode license for use, and Group 310 require a Dual Display license.
